Zainabia
Zainabia is a community centre in Southern California serving the needs of the Shia Muslim community. The mosque is named after the Prophet’s granddaughter, Sayeda Zainab. I knew from the outset that I wanted the brand identity to pay homage to her shrine in Damascus.
Problem
The challenge was trying to use the letter forms to spell the word in a way that was clear to read, balanced but also closely resembled the shape of Sayeda Zainab’s shrine/dome.
Solution
I used other elements from the shrine such as the arches and colours to finalise the brand identity, and I am pleased with the results!
